New Topsham DVD to be launched...
GALA PREMIERE Friday 21st May Available to the public from 22nd May 2010 TOPSHAM TALES TOPSHAM TALES - NEWS RELEASE 1 A new DVD production about Topsham's past and present will be on sale from 22nd May in the Estuary League of Friends' shop and Topsham Museum. The production is called, TOPSHAM TALES. Filming has taken around fifteen months and production has only been possible with lots of help from enthusiastic local people who really love and take a pride in their town. Many local characters appear to enchant us with their tales, not to mention their acting skills ! The town is rich in tales of salmon poaching, ghostly apparitions, boat building, sailing the high seas and political intrigue. We drop in on a Totty Doll maker, and if you have no idea what a Totty Doll is here is your chance to find out. We also stroll along the Exeter Canal and enjoy tales of the old pubs and spooky goings on in the dark of night. We are guests inside the house in which the Duke of Monmouth stayed in the 17th Century. The production is being sold to benefit two prominent local charities, The Estuary League of Friends and Topsham Museum. The film has been researched and written by Topsham author , Sara Vernon, and filmed and directed by East Devon film maker, Jim Rider. It has been sponsored by Beryl Marchant-Flint. Original music has been composed and is played by local music teacher Vanessa Tyrrell. The Production will be launched at a sparkling Gala Premiere on Friday 21st May at the Matthews Hall, Topsham. Tickets are available (whilst they last) at the very reasonable price of 5 from Beryl Marchant Flint on 01392 681629.
